d!We've had Patrick Head selling his shares, now Brawn divesting himself of his assets. FW is floating his company, spreading the risk. There seems to be a trend.
Has it got anything to do with the new concord agreement? This will be the biggest thing to hit F1. The negotiations appear to be behind closed doors, courtesy of the new boss, and this would allow those with information as to the way it is going to plan their response.
Of course it would, presumably, allow Merc to make an informed decision as to whether it was worth the investment so the fact that they obviously do is probably a positive. Perhaps the new rules will encourage more manufacturers into the sport. Certainly just one big one is not particularly good news.

yeah to be honest that bugs me a bit more than brawn, who does bring quite a lot to the table arguably was the reason the project went ahead (for example, honda probably wouldn't have sold the team to me, even tho i did actually have the money available at the time). but nick fry's cv appears to consist of gurning on the camera, losing all the sponsors from the honda team and allowing the earth dreams nonsense, and then sinking super aguri as they were embarassing his own team. and that he's made millions seems about as right as bankers bonuses.

As for winning a championship, I would bet they never do now.
MB won't have the balls to fund competitively against RBR, F and McL, and RB and MS will jump ship once this all becomes clear.
That'll be the beginning of the end.
I hope I'm wrong but the signs are already there.

Equally, when i visited the Brawn factory on a Marshal's club tour after the Merc take over had been announced (a day or 2 before) the question was asked, the reply being Brawn wouldnt have been able to race in 2010, as the continuing funding agreed with Honda ended after 2009, there was no money avaiable to race in 2010 without new buyer coming in.Bought the team for next to nothing with a car already developed at someone elses expense and promptly won the WDC with it, then sells out.
They did what they had to do, at the time to keep the team going.
