Ana Beatriz (IRL driver) just posted on Twitter about something weird on the McLaren nose, a short search later and I find this:

Basically, WTF is it?

McLaren have been known to run alot of strange stuff on the cars to get data for there simulator, possibly that device could be part of it.

I'm pretty sure its a measuring and telemetry device - looking at the struts poking out of it.

That sounds more plausable, looks like a way of adjusting wing angles, but that wouldn't explain why it looks so fugly!
