GO Jay!

There is a good chance he can win this. He was taken out of the car during practice for the 500 in 2008, when a driver with money took his drive. Then, in 2010 a poor decision to try and better their qualifying position meant that Jay had to miss the race. So, third time lucky....

So far as I can tell these Brits will attempt to get in the 35:

Dario Francitti
Mike Conway
Jay Howard
Justin Wilson
Pippa Mann (maybe)

Not a bad field for us!

So far as I can tell JR Hildebrand replaced him! Rather unceremonious for a 500 & series champion...

I know he's out of a full time drive thus far, but I'd be surprised if he didn't do something for Indy?

Some people raise it as a criticism of the series, but personally, the thing I enjoy about Indycars is the one-off drives, extra cars and part season deals. Look at Ed Carpenter last year. You wouldn't put him anywhere near a road course, but he was epic on the ovals he ran at. I'm probably looking forward to the ICS series more than I am F1 to be honest.
