World champion Sebastian Vettel has extended his contract with Red Bull by a further two years and will stay at the team until the end of 2014.
Red Bull are determined to keep hold of the German, 23, who they consider to be as good as anyone on the grid.
"Sebastian feels very comfortable within the team and the team feels very comfortable with him," team boss Christian Horner told BBC Sport.
"We started to talk about it earlier in the year and it came together quickly."
Mercedes are known to be interested in signing Vettel in the future, and speculation had also linked him to a possible move to Ferrari.
Horner said he was keen to be able to head into the new season without the distraction of such speculation.

All it means is that Ferrari or Mercedes would need to pay ridiculous amounts on money for him to move away. Similar to Rooney signing a new 5 year contract, doesnt mean he will stay there for 5 years.Wanta996Gotta said:

V/True, but in the current RBR domination I don't think he'd of left anyway. I cant remember the last time another team bought out "big move" driver deal ....at the moment Teams seems to pay drivers not to drive for them such as Raikkonnen with Ferrari & Liuzzi with Force India ..
