G'day gentlemen.
If any potential class C competitor who is short of funds would like a totally unbuilt V6 for free then contact me. This was to be my next project after winning the 2005 TVRCC in my 2.8 Cologne V6 Tasmin but the ex PPRP turbo Taz came my way and the bits have sat in my garage for 5 years.
The block is an ex Eurocar 2.9 12 valve short motor with race cam, Tilton flywheel and painted a nice red colour. I have had the crank reground to 10 and 10. I have a pair of flowed and worked heads with big valves to go with it. There is a complete 2.9 V6 donor engine with all the ancilleries in the deal. The downside is that if it has been rebored you will need one rod and piston but £80 should see both in your posession. If the bore is standard you have 6 spares anyway.
My intention was to put this on carburation on a 38 or 40 DGAS, as with the 2.8, and I expected to see the 175bhp at the wheels which is now the class limit, with the correct carb and proper rolling road setup.
The other downside is that the winning hard luck story will have to collect it from my home which is near Mansfield, Notts. If there are no takers then I will build it, given time, and sell it for more than I am asking at present.
This will not be the most powerful engine in C but I am sure it will be very tractable and legal.
Hard luck story existing racers need not apply.
Best Rgds,
Tim 33.

Hi Tim,

As I am the only person racing the only 12V 2.9L Toovey euro series engine in class C I would love to have it as a spare but I take your point that it should go to a newby. smile

Can I suggest that Billy Thompson is considered to take it off your hands? He did a couple of races last season with a 2.8L. He is the only person using a 2.8L and could do with more power. His existing engine runs triple DCNF carbs so it would be a fairly easy operation to transfer these on to a 2.9 given a suitable inlet manifold such as a Rick wood Jobby.

Better the engine goes to an existing newish racer than somebody who maybe has a commercial interest in it wink

Cheers

Dave

Sorry Des. All the V6 stuff went long ago. Free, as advertised. Best Rgds,
Tim.
PS. I do still have a 4 speed reconned gearbox for a Ford V6 but that will be a for sale item if and when.
