What a shame that the first race of what promised to be a great series is marred by, incompitence or is it corrunption, I can not say but the day at Silverstone was ruined by one of the two.

It should have been a great day of racing but instead the rules get changed half way through the day as a result of a big money team raising complaint after complaint and the small teams get pushed out by the system, total farce and I for one will not attend again.

clap hear hear, what a total farce today was, pulling Mike and Danny was just so wrong and un justified.
i will attend the next round though, just to watch them whoop their arses by their bent rule book.

Well done Mike and Danny, you both raced very well and you both know that today was just bks thumbup

Interesting stuff, but I'm a little in the dark. What happened and which rules were changed?

It was a great race! I loved every minute of it!

Overshadowed by some poor decisions on behalf of the controlling body.

It was great to see Mike win! I swear his lovely Cerbera was smiling when the chequered flag was waved!

I hope the decision to try and ruin it for the TVR Teams will go to appeal and that the right result with ensue. I am not particularly knowledgeable on motorport rules, but I'm pretty good on fairplay. And this looks like rubbish to me.

It does sound like it was a very unfortunate set of circumstances, and lots of people tried to find a suitable resolution.

The problem is once it reaches the Stewards and a decision is made thats game over...

I think many lessons have been learned from all sides over the weekend, lets hope everyone can move on..

A TVR win was always going to ruffle feathers from people with 500k cars spending 10's of thousands.

I've fallen foul myself of being told one thing by an organiser and then being pulled up on it later so I know how gutting it is...

Holy smoke! something probably fell off Mike’s car during the race which resulted in him being under weight (it is a TVR after all), just kidding. What a great day up until Mike and Danny got booted out, great couple of blokes and teams, so approachable and genuine. Where’s the fun of having a race full of the same dull Italian/German sole less cars buzzing round the track. The TVR’s were by far the most exciting cars on the track. All the effort and money Mike and Danny/Craig put in to provide us with a good day of racing, just feel so sorry for them. I just hope they get the issues sorted and kick the continental butts next time. Incidentally, the two TVR’s in my opinion were probably the closest to production cars than most of the other stuff out there but WTFDIK.

Ok, first off all thanks for the support,

I realy didn't want to post but feel it may be better to try and calm things down ?

Please can i ask you all to give the organisers the chance to try to sort this out, it was out of their controll over the weekend and Hannah and Andy did all they can to try and recover the situation Danny and Mike were in.

Once the decision had been made by the MSA it was final, (I think we must have run over a Priest at some point of Friday) We found out we were 100kg over weight which if we had added 10kg we could have run in class 2. Danny wanted to stay in the same class as he race in last year to run with the top Ferraris and Porsche's.

We had an issue with the steering rack which we had to sort out on Saturday morning, which with the help of top guy Craig Taylor at dyno torque we managed to sort out. (it was a problem that came about through removing the power steering pump)

In free practice on the second lap the gearbox let go, this resulted in Danny missing qually and starting at the back of the grid, so with a 100kg of extra weight and a standard road gearbox fitted, no testing it was good to see the car come through the pack from the back of the grid to 6th place, he was challenging for 5th but had to back out on the last few laps due to fuel surge,(this is something else we need to sort out)

Can i also say that i have spoken to most drivers including some of the Ferrari drivers and they did not want this to happen ? we did a full season last year racing with the old challenge tuscan, and was welcomed back by the organisers with the Sag.

We nearly packed in after the 4 DNS's we had last year and it was Garry Eastwood (Ferrari driver) that said to us don't give up and come and race with us again next year.

Mike drove his wheels of his car and is the one who has lost out the most, but i have spoke with Mike and we both feel it is not fair to give GT CUP a hard time on here and to tar every one with the same brush.

Craig.

Motors TV 413 this Fri 19.25, at least the first race will be worth watching,

hope the TVRs are at Oulton, I suspect a massive TVR turn out if they are.

Does anyone know if there's a reason why Michael Symons' E36 is down as "BMW GTR E46" in the Group 1 entry listings or is it just a mistake ?
