I took on some extra work to get some money, but its dragged on a bit, so not had time to do the mods to the Racer I wanted to do. I've got a few things that need sorting (mainly wheel bearings), but I should be out for Snett. but the car will be the same as it was last year, for now.

Hi Kev,

Definitely class B, the engine is completely standard so we'll be well under the PTW for the middle class. Both me and the car need to go on a diet.

Just shaken my Robin Hood Cosworth out at a Snett track day yesterday and the new 300 circuit is v technical but great, with lots of new tarmac on the rest of the circuit too. Can't understand why anyone would want to do Brands Indy with just 4 bends when Snett and others beckon!
Yes I shall be at Snett in Class B again.

Don't understand why we should be racing the old 200 when everything at Snett is geared to the new 300, including this weekend's racing and all trackdays, which if yesterday is anythng to go by, was jammed with nearly 50 racecars all getting used to the new 300 circuit! ! !

Down to cost and number of marshalls needed I expect... Im with you on Brands though not fussed by the Indy at all I's much rather go somewhere like Anglesey, and thaats probably cheaper than brans too.. The Full GP circuit at Brands However is something else..

The weeked we are racing they are trying to use the both circuits at the same time for the first time. There is a sprint on the 100 and us on the 200.

As far as the paddock goes I am a bit concerned about space especially as the Aston Martins are out on the Saturday and we we will probably have to wait for them to clear. If we can have as many as possible getting ready to go in on Saturday afternoon it would be good, there is sufficient parking area outside of the paddock. The paddock has been redeveloped but one of the areas is set off as either the run off and ES exit for the 300 and or the entry /exit / ES for the 100.

For those that havent been out on it this year changes:

Riches no change
Sear: Now called Montreal and is now a hairpin for the 300 and half for the 200 so much slower corner.
Revett now called Bentley
Esses now called Brundell no changes
Bomb Hole no changes
Coram same for most of the bend but....
The transition into what was Russell and is now called Murrays is very different the end of Cram is much tighter and there appears to be two lines. The old escape bit at Russel has gone replaced by a BIG kerb. There are a lot of cars outbraking themselves into the corner.

This info comes from the Marshal half of my brain not the DTEC snapper half.

It will be fun!

And I thought that, in these austere times, the extra £20 we are paying above last year's £320 was to fund the 300 circuit! ! ! Oh well just goes to show that you can't assume anything in motor-racing!
At least I have experienced the 300 circuit and it is hugely more rewarding than the 200, not that I am complaining - the 200 is still a good circuit!
