Turkey is an interesting one.

On the one hand it looks like a superb circuit, a real driver's track. On the other, it hasn't really produced the best racing over the years.

It's in the arse end of nowhere for people who would be interested in doing trackdays, if trackdays were even available at the circuit.

I can honestly say that I don't think it will be missed that much if it goes.

To be fair Istanbul Park is a good track in its own right, but because it's a Tilkering people jump on the bandwagon. If Silverstone had his signature on it PH'ers would have universally panned that too.

If it wasn't a given that any new track HAD to have Tilke or Bernie wouldn't consider them that is the daft part of it ... there are other track designers out there!... somewhere

It is the one area of F1 where the participants HAVEN'T adopted a unified front.
Maybe it's time they did.

I was always sure that Ecclestone owned Turkey? When you look at Google earth and it's accessibility from the Med it really suits the super yachts from the med. That's probably why it has such a big price on it in relation to other circuit fees. I've never been but it is one I would have visited oneday.
