What Roads in the Alpes in December will be open?

Planning to go home for christmas to the UK from Italy, want to know which way will be best to avoid any major snow!

Gottard Tunnel

mont Balnc Tunnel

Fuetjus Tunnel

or any other passes?

What will switerland be like late december? Snow fall?

Are the major roads always open? going midweek.

Should i go via tornio or como way?

Mont Blanc tunnel is the safest bet, it will be open regardless of conditions and the road either side will be well gritted.

All of them at the moment as there is a serious lack of snow!

Switzerland will have snow by late december. Some of the heaviest snowfalls can be during this period.

The Swiss are good at clearing, but I've still sat in some heavy congestion at this time of year due to heavy snowfalls.
