Hi all,
A few of us are heading to the Peak District this weekend in the hope of finding some good driving roads. I've been left to plan the route but I don't know the area so I'm a bit stuck. So far I've got the Cat n Fiddle (understand the 50 limits have ruined it but it's about 15 mins from our base so it'd be rude not to), and that's about it. Have also got Snake Pass on the maybe list.
Can anyone who knows the area better than me recommend any 'must drive' roads?
Cheers,
Andy

The Peak District is primarily in Derbyshire which is primarily policed by Derbyshire plod
Thats all you need to know

Blanket 50mph limits strictly policed
TBH I just cant think where you could go and let loose in a modern car without fear of being booked
The Snake Pass used to be a blast if you were careful
Nice twisty bits and some open sections with excellent visibility and NSL which are however now included in the blanket 50mph
Its actually maddening when stuck behind someone from the Triumph Acclaim brigade doggedly doing 35 when a safe overtake will obviously nudge you into naughty territory which you just dont need if your licence is ahem cough ahem you know what I mean

In other words just go for a cream tea and then do what everyone else does and find a TVR behind you to wick off for half an hour or so
