stayed there last year in June it's only 10 mins from the stelvio

Stayed here a few years ago on a road trip. Nice place to stay after travelling from Sarnen via Andermatt, Chur and Davos, finishing with Umbrail and Stelvio

Just outside Bormio, amazing hotel if going with the mrs..... Amazing spa, probably best I've ever been to. Not cheap but over 150 years old. The dining room should be in a museum. Went back there a few weeks ago to go skiing. As mentioned make sure the pass is open when you go.

I did a big loop from the hotel over stelvio pass into Switzerland, livigno and back to bormio, was awesome....preferred the other passes to drive rather than stelvio as it's so tight so make sure you do some of them as well.

We stayed in the Hotel Tannenheim in Trafoi at the foot of the Stelvio. We were a group of bikers and they looked after us very well.

has anyone got any good recommendations for youth hostels/campsites in the area and will the beginning of June be too cold to camp?
