Wondering if there's a ferry to go there and take the car if there are at least a few really great roads or better to just take a flight and rent something while I'm out there?

I believe the ferries go from Newcastle. I'm planning Norway - Sweden - Denmark - Holland - Belgium - France - Home. My research shows some good roads and amazing scenery!

Just checked some random Ferry prices - around £350 return, wowow, anyone know if that's a better nearby port to ferry to and then drive?
Good thing I dont drink, so will be spending my beer money on the 20£ a head McDonald's (so I've been told)

I may be wrong but didn't the Newcastle to Norway ferry close down in 2008? partly due to the cheap flights and DFDS saying it was uneconomical to run... think options are limited now to Denmark and then driving through Denmark and Sweden

can't swear to this, but i believe the freight boats, that run sweden to tilbury with the paper reels will take a car and passengers, and you'll get a cabin i think. may be worth a look, ferry to sweden, drive from there, some cracking roads. been norway a few times in the truck, did cardiff to bergen, (the long way once) that was a nice drive, especially oslo to bergen.
if you look at the tilbury option, not sure of the freight line name, sorry. the reels are marked up as "stora enso" maybe a start on google.

According to the DFDS website it's now Harwich to Esbjerg in Denmark, so a nice round trip, Denmark - Sweden - Norway - Sweden - Denmark - Home. Sounds quite good!

Or you can take a four hour ferry to Norway from Denmark!

So my trip would now be: -
Ferry, Harwich to Esbjerg
Ferry, Copenhagen to Oslo
Drive around Norway, then Sweden, back into Denmark, then Holland, Belgium and ferry home from Dunkerque.

How about a twist of when going back into Sweden to Karlskrona and then catch the ferry to Gdynia in Poland and then driving back from there, to maybe Hamburg and then ferry back to the UK?...

You can also take a ferry from the northern tip of Denmark to parts of southern Norway http://fjordline.com/

Will look intO those options and see if they are financially viable. Anyone got a good guide to the driving roads out there and Sweden?

Came back from Denmark last week, Fantastic 'empty' roads, i was shocked on how clear the roads were, was like a scene out of the walking dead / 24 days later etc, out in the countryside, forest like surrounds. Its put into perspective when the UK has 60 Million population (est.) and Denmark has 6 Million (est.)

Nice, any speed cameras or strict police if one was to be caught exceeding the speed limits?
