You ever got the urge to just go for a drive?
Nowhere specific, not for groceries, or for a car meet or for a holiday, but just for the sake of going for a drive, for pleasures sake?
So many people these days are using their cars for the mundane and the obvious, and with the increase in fuel prices I guess more and more people are choosing to leave their pride and joys sat on the driveway or in the garage and pursue cheaper hobbies ..which is a shame...
So the w, What inspired you to do it? Where did you go? What did you drive? Did you enjoy it? Or was there a pang of guilt when you realised that that chunk of fuel you just used could have covered half a weeks journeys to and from work?
I only ask, 'cus this morning, after flicking through a few old copies of 'Evo', I just felt inspired to go out, fill the car with Super-Unleaded, and just have a thrash along some of my favourite local roads.. All in the name of driving for pleasure
Lets hear from you..

This sort of qualifies in that i will look for a show ,a meet ,a rally, a race meeting, anything
to go to but only if i can take the Cosworth.
I am not interested in going anywhere except local in my daily Fiesta 1.25.
Last Saturday i went to Somerset Stages Rally ,only knew it was on on Thursday.
I have given the Cos 2 weeks off to give it a checkover this weekend ,if it ever stops
raining,in preparation for possibly 4 events over Bank Holiday next weeekend

When I lived on the edge of the Lake District I would be out every weekend and often of an evening. Now I live in the SE (Hertfordshire) and never have the urge, well maybe the long way home from work now and then.
Could be rose tinted specs and the addition of family responsibility I s'pose

I did this little loop on Sunday.

The traffic wasnt too bad, but I have an amazing habbit of catching cars just as I get to the twisty bits!

Last night - jumped in the car and went for a hoon around Hertford, before then it was a week ago on the R1 from 5am around deepest darkest Essex.
A 4.5 month old son mean my passes are fewer these days
It is a shame wasting a sports car/bike on the commute and a good thrash does them and me a world of good and it's cheaper than a good drug habit!

Did it the other way from the Raigmore roundabout in Inverness to Broxden Junction Perth back in April. Went direct via the B9006 rather than looping up to the A96.The bridge at Gairnshiel Lodge was closed so we had to take the long way round via the A944/A97/B9119 to Ballater. Outside the towns we saw less than a dozen cars on the entire route. Awesome roads.

Just did that to go the BIG Tesco.
Not sure now why I even did that, it was just for petrol! Should have gone to the one at Inches, but maybe it doesn't have Momentum?.. And I keep forgeting about the Shell down the road from it.
