After some suggestions for a special BG weekend trip
starting sat midday at M25 river crossing and coming back Tue Evening looking for an epic drive in the UK staying in a nice hotel
epic scenery, twisties and plod / scamera free would be ideal

Drive up the M1-M6 to Carlisle.
Take the A7 North to Longtown, then turn right and enjoy.
Zig-zag your way around and across The Borders and Dumfries and Galloway for a couple of days. Avoid the main roads of A7 and A68 and you shouldn't see much/anything in the way of speed cameras or police.
Head back south after a couple of days.
Plent small country hotels etc to stay in.
Take the A7 North to Longtown, then turn right and enjoy.

err indoors has insisted on the lakes, hopefully there should be some good twisties up there
