Hi all,

First post, but been browsing for a while.

I'm looking to do a European road trip with my other half, going rhrough germany, switzerland, northern italy, corsica and then back via paris, Our destination is Switzerland, and we will be staying near Davos.

I want to do the fluela pass and stelvio whilst in Switzerland, as well as the San bernardino pass, but am keen do see as many driving roads as possible.

If anyone offer any advice/guidance, that would be much appreciated.

Many thanks!

Hi Eddie

I am planning on doing a European trip with the Petrolhead Nirvana lot in June/July this year.

We are taking in some of those roads and my advice would be to pop over to their forum area as a lot of the questions you ask have already been answered.

As a side note, make sure you have European breakdown recovery and make sure you have rang your insurance company to check you are covered for Europe.

Nice lurking by the way, 2 posts in 84 months!!! smile

I'm planning a similar trip for the beginning of august. My route so far is: london, calais, reims, troyes, d996 to dijon, lyon, grenoble, n85 to cannes, nice, monaco, col de turini, modena, maranello, bolzano, stelvio, bormio, como, black forest, stuttgart, nurburgring, london.

I'm hoping to fit some mountain passes in there too.

I booked my Eurotunnel tickets the other day for my roadtrip in August.

Cardiff-Folkestone-Calais-Reims-Dijon-Grenoble-Nice-Monaco.

The intention is to play it by ear with regards to accommodation on the way down and only prebook a hotel in Nice. Birthday celebrations in Monaco, possibly a quick trip over the Italian border and then drive back up to stay in Paris.

When are you looking to do it? France are bringing in the breathalyser rule where one has to be carried in the vehicle at all times as of July I believe?

Good luck and enjoy!

I think i read somewhere that the breathalyser law won't be enforced until november.
