B2042, Sevenoaks District

Does anyone out there know if the B2042 is still mostly national speed limit? I haven't driven it for a good long while and it always used to be a great road (especially ascending), but there seems to have been some local petitioning that the speed limit along it should be revised down to 40mph.
Thanks in advance.

Only just found this thread, I regularly drive this road and have quite a nice little route that takes in the B2042 from the A25 junction, down through Four Elms then right onto the B269 then right again onto B2026 back into Westerham, A25 again then back onto the B2042, repeat until out of petrol. It's a 15 mile, erm, lap.
Some lovely roads, hardly any traffic if you time it well and (no holier than thou comment intended here) no need to break any limits to have fun

Or, for a longer lap, go the other way at Four Elms - B2027/B245/A21/A25.Some lovely roads, hardly any traffic if you time it well and (no holier than thou comment intended here) no need to break any limits to have fun

I had a run out this way last night and had what a great road, I have worked out a nice evening route that takes in this road then heads through Four Elms and Leigh before back to my house near Tonbgridge. I headed out from Sevenoaks last night but think it would be better heading from Leigh out towards Sevenoaks and back down the A21.
Im not sure its that great a drive..That road from Chidingstone Causeway down to four elms (from what i can remember) is quite pot holed and has a real sharp right which is single lane over a railway bridge. When ever I go that way I always end up facing some pensioner.
Ive been trying to think of some decent drives loacally to take the Tuscan on but do seem to struggle finding decent roads. I think the a25 isnt bad heading out of westerham past the grasshopper.
I think the best section of roads in the south east may be the beachy head road taking in Seven Sisters.

Thats the bridge by the Wheatsheaf (a very nice pub btw) at Bough Beech.m4tti said:

Not much of it though. About 3 miles to the traffic lights at the Limpsfield junction. The rest of the A25 is pants.m4tti said:

Beachy Head -> Birling Gap -> the A259 at East Dean is a nice little run with great vistas.Again not very many miles though.
The B roads across Ashdown Forest are also worth checking out.
Imo though the best group of roads in the South East are in the area bounded by Tenterden, Hamstreet, Lydd, and Rye. Done in the right order you can pack in 60 miles of great driving with some excellent pubs to choose from to stop at for refreshment.
