A623 - Quite a nice drive

Last Sunday night on a long haul from London to Anglesey in the MG I took a slight detour via Chesterfield and took this road to get back on track.

Hit it at about 9pm as the Sun was beginning to set.
In the time it wasn't raining cats and dogs it appeared to be a rather nice well sighted road. Hankering for an excuse to go back some time and abuse the right pedal....

Yeah that's a pretty good road IIRC, although the A6 itself isn't all that bad going in that direction - can do the cut-across to Manchester from the M1 that way, better than the M40 any day of the week.
