The B4507 leading out of Wantage is good fun.

B4035 Banbury> Shipston-on-Stour> Chipping Camden
B4100 Banbury> Gaydon> M40(J13)
B4086 Warmington> Kineton> Wellesbourne
On the B4035, after Shipston you cross the Fosse Way Roman road. Turn right onto
A429 then B4455> Princethorpe. Nearly 25 miles of almost dead straight road.
If you fancy it there is another section that runs north from there.
B4455 Princethorpe> Bretford> Brinklow> A5 crossroads at High Cross.
B4100 Banbury> Gaydon> M40(J13)

B4525 out of Banbury towards Silverstone is pretty good.
It's also worth making a detour from the A361 down the B4437 - Top Gear do a fair amount of filming along here.
As for the Fosse Way, it looks straight on a map, but it really isn't - a good variety of corners and plenty of undulations - you can have a lot of fun along it.

A favourite of mine, still untainted with the far-too-common 50mph posted speed limit, good quality road surface and plenty to get stuck in with. I'm nearby, do let me know when you move and perhaps we can meet up to explore the more interesting roads.RenesisEvo said:

Sounds like a plan. I'm moving in June - by which point the TVR will be back on the road and I won't be restricted to slouching along in a diesel estate.

The Banbury IAM group is strong and functions well, but does unfortunately have a fairly high average age currently. They're a good bunch in my experience, I found them much less 'snooty' than some of the Oxford lot, and they don't tend to obsess too much about minutiae. Visitors are always welcome to the various gatherings, I'd suggest going along and forming your own opinion. Odd choice that, of all the good roads in the area & that tiny winding lane is picked, the other 2 side of that triangle either side of Lambourne are crackers tho, best done anti clockwise with that linked road as the 1st part.

Drive it or ride it every day, it's not really an interesting road, but you can get some serious speed up in places. If you do, watch out for me on my bike though! I try and keep time on that road to a minimum, but have no choice between Tackley and Kidlington.Any of the A roads will give you good views at points, but you drive on any of the A roads in this area you are bound to have traffic doing 30-40mph. The roads are twisty/hilly enough to prevent much overtaking safely and there tends to be a lot of farm traffic as well. They are lowering the speed limits all around as well...
If you want twisty fun any road in the area could give it to you, but simply there is too much traffic to really enjoy much of it for long unless you start getting aggressive on the overtakes. And that's not safe for anyone involved.

re Talivans - the end of the short dual carriageway section Southbound adjacent to the left turn to the Astons certainly had a piece of hard standing where they regularly sat.In fact, this one: http://www.speedcamerasuk.com/database/SEO/seo053.... That link is for the camera northbound at the end of the dual carriageway near the North Aston and Duns Tew crossroads. That one works, I saw it flash the other day. I've not seen a van at the Steeple Aston turning for quite some time now, possibly a year or so and I drive past it every day.
