Help us out!

Feel like a blast but was wondering if anyone had some good routes in mind.

Cheers

a69 west then military road (b6231?) to chollerford, then up to bellingham (b6320?) and left up to kielder, loop round over the border to the A696, on to the rothbury road then on to the A697 and then a quick blast down the A1 to finish off. did this route with the NE PH group in the summer and it was fantastic. oh, and no scameras at all until stannington on the A1! watch out for all the usual country hazards like trucks, farmers, numpties, animals, mud on the apex etc

Just watch out for the "Warning: Sever Dips" on the military road. I almost lost the exhaust of the S on one of those.

Head west on the A69, turn off onto the A686, continue through Alston, over Hartside to Melmerby. Then turn around and over Hartside again back to Alston, then down the B6277 to Middleton-in-Teesdale, then head northbound on the B6278 up to Stanhope, and carry on towards Edmunbyers and the A68, then back to the A69 and on to wherever it is you started.

These are absolute quality and some of the finest roads in the country - A686 and B6277 in particular.

Enjoy

I'm always up for a run out on this route if you are planning a jaunt.

Yep have to agree with the A686 up to hartside and beyond! Fantastic views when the weather is nice - just watch out for bikers and the local constabulary!

If you want to go a bit further my favourite jaunts are up the A697 and A68 towards Edinburgh - quite a few cameras but they are all easy to spot!
