Hi All

Can anyone tell me what the driving conditions are generally like in mid/late March? I'm taking my recently acquired Alfa Spider S4 to Antibes and would love to go down via the N85 but…

I really want to avoid salted/gritted roads and getting arse about face on an icy road in a new (to me) rear wheel drive car.

Any advice greatly appreciated - cheers!

I'm no expert, but having read others experiences of March/April I would think you have a chance of ice/snow. Perhaps consider a Plan B?

Thanks CarbonXXB, I've been working on a Plan B, sounds like it might have to become Plan A. Looking for good driving roads around Burgundy/Avignon/Var area might be a safer bet smile

I'm also looking for somewhere in Europe to go for a drive in late March, ideally looking to avoid the need for winter tyres/chains!

There looks to be some nice, twisty D roads near Burgundy, that could be fun.

The D996 running into Dijon from the north has had some good reviews. Unless it's really awful weather I don't think there'll be ice or snow.
