Are there any good roads/things to see in West France?
Discussion
Hi,
I'm trying to plan a motorbike road trip with a friend. Although between us we've done about 6 trips around the usual bits of the continent, we've come up with a route that involves coming up the west coast of France. Are there any regions of good roads on the way up from Andorra?
Very rough route is here.

Slightly off topic but check your Bike Insurance covers you in Andora as its not in the EU although has a working agreement with it, I had a policy a few years ago that didn't include it & I had to pay a little more before I left, Im guessing travel Insurance needs checking as well as the EU card may not cover you
Driven that route a couple of times to the La Rochelle area. The main motorway/A roads are pretty boring but there's some beautiful countryside once you get off the main roads, think rolling countryside, beaches and pretty villages more than mountains though. Lovely and quiet by UK standards as well.
La Rochelle is nice, slightly off route but Limoges has a really pretty medieval centre. Not the most cheerful suggestion but this is one of the most moving places I've been in my life: http://www.oradour.info

Short answer is no, in terms of particular roads. However, La Rochelle is pretty and Ile de is wonderful if you want some down time. As mentioned above, Oradour is well worth a visit, and there is a fairly good motor museum near Rennes if you are passing. I'm trying to plan a motorbike road trip with a friend.
