Hi all - We are planing a Driving Holiday to Auschwitz in May/June and plan to include driving through Switzerland & Austria on the outward leg. (Returning via Germany/Holland) One of our overnight stops will be just outside Geneva at Bourg-En-Bresse and then plan to drive right through to Brno in Czech Republic and on to Auschwitz.

Any suggestions on which basic route to take? We want the best driving route, not most efficient!!! We will be avoiding Motorways and happy to take detours to drive some passes. Also, places to stay. On a budget so bringing tents along and happy with F1/Ibis Budget type places.

Thanks for any advice

Paul

the roads in the Czech republic range from billiard smooth to ploughed field rough. if driving on cobbled streets in Prague watch out for sections that have collapsed, bottomed out, and crashed the suspension on the trophy so many times. a detour to Colditz in Germany, as well as looking out "the gallery" nr nijmegen in Holland. other than that, enjoy Austria, fantastic roads and scenery.

That, and watch out for Czech overtaking on single carriageway roads..

Google Route de le Crete in the Vosges mountains down to Mulhouse, head to Andermatt and do the Andermatt loop (google it) and Davos in Switzerland draw a line for the https://www.grossglockner.at/gg/en/index and head north to Berchtesgaden to Hitlers Eagles nest

Then your done
