Flooded road never fixed - What can be done?

theres a section of road near me thats almost permanently flooded , lots of gravel in the road thats washed from the fields , sharp bend so cars drive around it then meet the oncoming traffic
it keeps getting reported on the council site and nothing done about it , its been going on years
whats the next step kicking something into action ? south cambs if it matters

I lived in South Cambs for over 20 years and reckoned it to have the worst road surfaces in the country!
I used to drive all over the country and could always tell when I was crossing the county border back into South Cambs from any direction just by the noticeably worse road conditions!
Embarrassing really given the wealth in and around Cambridge.

South Cambs is of course in Cambridgeshire where the highways authority is Cambridgeshire County Council. Yes they're useless. In Cambridge itself it's a struggle getting them to do basic stuff like repaint a totally worn zebra crossing or prune a bush that is totally obscuring a red traffic light.
I'd suggest emailing your local County Councillor (not the South Cambs district ones). Be sure to tell them how many people are annoyed by this dangerous thing - they love stuff like this to solve that they can put on their election leaflets.

Not sure of the law south of the border, but I know from experience that these things can be a nightmare. In Scotland it is illegal to discharge water from private land onto the public road. Which, I suspect, in one form or other will be the same in England. The trouble is that enforcing this is extremely difficult and can take years. Once the land owner has been identified, notices have to be served and the process can drag and drag. It can be as infuriating for the LA as for residents. Land owners generally don't want to spend the money sorting the drainage on thier land and to take them to court can take years.
This may not be what's going on in your case, but it wouldn't surprise me. Where I work we have had all sorts of issues trying to enforce notices to stop land owners discharging water onto the roads (and knackering them).
