Anyone have any favourite slip road sections?

I'm not talking about the boring motorway exits that go up to a roundabout, but those really interesting ones that join two motorways / A roads.

Two to start off with:

1)M4 eastbound to A329M towards Wokingham/Bracknell. Great set of fast bends, left, two rights then a left.

2)M27 eastbound to M3 northbound. I've done this a few times recently. I think it's more to do with the road surface, very smooth and flat. Sometimes the odd unmarked Bib there too.

A419 west exit to fairford is good, then leads onto a great bit of road too.
M5 J11a south is good, long long left hander with nice tricky bump in the middle.

A1-M Northbound to A64 Eastbound is pretty funky, long sweeping cutting bends and stuff, in a lovely scenic environment

I do the 329M to M4 westbound (270 degree cloverleaf, shellgripped and cambered) and M4 East to 329M North (simple cambered turn), daily. 65mph on the first of these feels close to the limit in the car, but probably isn't! The second can be taken a lot faster (I imagine ) Both are good fun though, and liven up the 10 mile journey.

Coming off the M9 for the Forth road Bridge is always fun (from Edinburgh).
You have just joined from a big r/about, up to speed, identify your gap and off again for a cambered, high grip surface 270 left turn with mild climb to join an open dual carriageway with gentle right curve.
There is a big warning sign saying max speed 30, ay right then.

More votes for M4 jc10 - I drive from Reading to work in London everyday. Getting the M4 west on to A329(m) north right is fantastic

But I'm normally blocked by some numpty doing 55 in the outside lane

M25 jc19 (A411) - for the sheer drag-strip qualities!!!

Runfold onto the A3 is good...

Nice and bendy, and kind of banked too!

Funny you should say that...

I've often thought of the A5111 onto A52 (Eastbound) East of Derby as 200 yards of Nurburgring - it's got it all, gradient, camber, armco, trees - and often as not, lunatics in BMWs....

The Stoke turn off from the M6. It has a insane left hand bend immediatley after leaving the M6 followed by a very sharp right hand bend.

Getting off the M5 southboung to join the A30 for Cornwall - fantastic fast left sweep, down into a looong right hander - great corner!

a449 onto a 470 northbound can be entertaining, watch for traffic on your right though!

Theres also a max 30 which I think is around the a449 -> m4 junction.. personal best so far is 45.. mechanical sympathy (no baffled sump) prevents further exploration.

Both the M1 to M18 Northbound and the M18 to M62 are nice fast bends. The latter has a very quiet stretch that feeds it from the M62, so the slingshot effect can be quite impressive. Obviously, this depends at other traffic doing around 20/30mph

M25 Jcn 19 (getting off Clockwise)

Fantastic road, wide, sweeping, goes under the M25 to your own runway...

Managed a personal best of 1.4 leptons in the SLK last night.

Anothe clockwise jcn off the M25, the one that goes from M25 to M3 (london Bound) technically very difficult but fun fun fun....

M4 Junction 7 going westbound.

Long 270 degree exit to NSL dual carriageway to roundabout.

No complaint from tyres at 70, but felt like a little understeer was creeping in. Plenty of complaints from passenger...

Great fun that one - managed over 1.5 leptons on that one a few years ago on my daily commmute home fromt the server room at 1am....

My fave at the moment is from the M25 clockwise onthe the M40 london bound. wide sweeping left hander that just keeps urging you for more. Good visibility to the carriageway you join too, so safe as well

If you get a clear run at it, getting on the M5 J22 Southbound, 270 degree downwards sloping slip road, "recommended maximum 30mph" pfff.
However, if you are doubling that and catch up with a numpty doing 30, be careful on the lift off/braking.

Used to be two lanes so it wasn't a problem, then they made it one with solid hatchings on the left which is now full of gravel and shit. Also means if you do get caught up with aforementioned numpty, you often end up being forced to join the motorway at 45mph
