What can I expect as a penalty for doing an indicated 70mph in a 50mph zone? I live in Bristol. This was on a dual carriageway in perfect conditions.

Above the threshold for a speed awareness course (unless very lucky) so probably 3 points & £100 fine.

Someone may be able to be more accurate, but you won't lose your licence or anything so don't sweat it too much.

I like how everyone ever caught speeding was driving in perfect conditions with no traffic or people around them.

It doesn’t make a difference.

I’d imagine it would if you went to court.

I’ve only had my licence for 1 year and 11 months though. Are you sure there’s no danger of ban? Thanks!

I understand your point and I also know that a car doing 70 compared to doing 50mph has almost double the kinetic energy. I am fully aware how much of a nob I’ve been just wondering what I can expect

From what I’ve just googled it’ll be 3 points and £100. Nothing to worry about.

Plus from what i was told several years ago by my own insurance company they don't take any notice of the first three points.More that that though and they start to take notice and can effect your insurance for up to 5 years.Like i said that was several years ago and that may well have changed by now.
