Welsh roads recomendations?

Did the following recently:
Brecon to Newbridge via Garth (Epynt ranges) B4519/B4520.
Rhyader-Devil's Bridge through Cwmystwyth is a bit of a detour but decent.
Llanidloes - Machynlleth via Dylife.
Further north in the Trawsfynydd/Ffestiniog/Bala area the B4391, A4212 and B4407 are great.
Beddgelert-Capel Curig and Llanberis are great but are a bit more touristy.

Can’t go wrong with this route tbh around North Wales. Will be fantastic fun in a Monaro

I thought that too, seems more of a ‘testing’ road. Slow, medium, fast corners, longish straights, some squiggly bits, seemed to give the car a proper work out. Wasn’t super enjoyable nor scenic though.mac96 said:

I haven’t been back there after arriving to find the cameras installed a couple of years back. Set the cruise control at 60mph and think I only had to turn it off for one small section. Reckon even just drifting up to 70mph on the straights would have you averaging comfortably over 60 never mind if you were giving it some.
From memory 90% of it is quite boring at 60 or less.

I've always found the A55 past Colwyn Bay quite nice.
Safe 50 speed limit. Think of the nuns.
Anyway just a few miles after that, there are three tunnels. Always nice to change down to 2nd and accelerate hard. With the windows down. If it's breakfast time, stop at the cafe at Llanfairfechan on the seafront.
Step back into 1965.
I've always enjoyed the road from Menai Bridge to penmon point on Ynys Mon. Pay the toll at the end and drive to the lighthouse.
If you want a laugh. Drove from Llandonna to Red Wharf bay. You won't be breaking the speed limit. But you might test your reversing skills if something comes the other way.
For all out speed testing, I recommend the Brittannia bridge. Speed limit is only 50, but you should be able to see 140 in a monaro leaving Anglesey
