Just driven back to see relatives from France and used the M6 toll for the first time in 2 years.

last time I am pretty sure it was 6.20 or thereabouts, but this time I am in a van so thought probably £8 or £10.

Just looked at my bank account.

£16.60 eekbangheadeek

Bloody hell thats alot!

And some people want more toll roads in the UK claiming it works in France or some such.

In reality you'll get the same crappy roads and the joy of paying £10 a trip for them.

Yea it's too much for me to bother with in the car nowadays. If it saves me 30 minutes I'll consider it, but otherwise no chance.

It was about double what I expected it to be in a cat when I used it for the NEC the other week.

Must be a quid a minute or thereabouts.

To be fair its better than most other motorways in terms of maintenance

This was the best bit. Maybe this is the way forwards, buy paying for and using the toll you accept the conditions that it's a legal autobahn.

I cheaped out on the way up to Wales then sat for ages in a queue past Star City observing some of the worst driving I’ve seen in years. I’d pay the toll next time

I do like waving goodbye to the Proles as they leave me in peace when approaching the M6 Toll, but the last time I used it, it was around £8.

Looking at the chart above, what's all the zone bit about?

The worse bit is rejoining the Prols at the other end, especially heading south.

Can't all those not using the Toll road just be led into a big carpark and have all their cars and trucks crushed biggrin

Been on it once, the week it opened.

Can't see the point, maybe if it was £1.50.

People with more money than sense....unless your firm is footing the bill.

What are the current usage numbers - IIRC it was anticipated to be 80K/day and it was running at around half that?

Worth every penny for the Toll Booth Grand Prix, windows and foot down driving

I will almost always use it, more than several times it has saved me lots of time, it's always free flowing, there are less dheads on it and the services are always nice and clean, I'd say 50/50 work and personal expenditure. I am sure there used to be peak and off peak hours. Will say the last time I took the van with a car trailer through it stung a bit.
