Any recommendations? Starting point Calais. We have a week Folkstone to Folkstone.

- Cars; Continental GT and Ferrari 488
- Weather; Sunny!
- Accommodation; Nice hotels
- Sustenance; Nice food & drink

Albuferia and back along the coast? Circa 3000 miles, lots of driving. We'd probably look at booking hotels on the day if that would be doable and we wouldn't struggle.

Anyone done similar and have any advice?

Outside school holidays, with a bit of flexibility, you’ll be fine booking accommodation as you go.

Don’t miss the Spanish Picos or some of the inland Portuguese roads.

You'll spend half of each morning looking for somewhere to have lunch, and half of each afternoon looking for an hotel.

Plan a route and book some accomodation in advance.

Yep. Very much this.

We did a great trip in Bavaria. Lots of castles and some great roads if you kept off the autobahns.

I suppose an overnight ferry to Spain might be the way forward, a bit less driving, more time to enjoy. Golf clubs will be with us to be used in Portugal.

My thoughts on booking as we go was we then weren't tied to a certain number of miles each day and certainly the length of time away isn't set in stone.
