Sorry for the stupid question, I took this pic at a famous viewpoint on the B4391, but I can't remember where I was. Have driven up and down it on Streetview but no luck finding the view.

I know someone will know this instantly. I have seen other photos from the same place but none seem to have given the location.

Btw. I took it with a camera rather than a phone, hence not having the GPS pinpoint.

Many thanks scratchchin

I don't recognise that view and pretty sure there is no lake visible from the A4931 except Bala lake and that is not Bala lake from the A4931.

It may be the Lake from the B4403 but I don't think so. I know the road well and drive it at least once a week.

I've driven past here numerous times on weekends away.

The A498 just south of Penn y Pass junction with the A4086

Not a million miles from the Ffestiniog end of the B4391

Aaah that explains why I can’t find it then!!

I’d convinced myself it was on the B4391 East of Bala. I sometimes approach into Bala heading east to west along that road as it becomes almost as fantastic as where it continues on the usual side.

Mystery solved, thank you.

Realised this makes more sense now, I think I was confusing it with one of the other trips I’ve taken. This would’ve been on the way from Bala, Beddgelert, that view point, Llanberis and on to Bethesda for the zip wire 😁👍

Brilliant trip, next day up to the Lake District and from there following the Wainwright Coast to Coast route. Across from the Lake District with its twisty passes over to the East coast near Scarborough and finally back to Kent.

Following in the footsteps of an old Evo road test of the Evora by Henry Catchpole. Who I coincidentally passed on the B4391 several years earlier when I was in an S1 Elise.

This is making me itch for another trip over now 😃

Love an off peak road trip!

Here's a photo of some kit cars further south

Aha! In my back catalogue I built a Westfield (sorry) and owned a Grantura. I didn’t get to Wales in either of them unfortunately.
