As per the title really. On my trips north into Teesdale, I've hopped off the M6 at Caton and taken the A683 up to Ingleton then onto the B6255 past Ribblehead towards Hawes. The A684 Garsdale road is good too, but I'm seeking something good further south.

I do need a dual track, so overtakes are possible. That means a centre line.

Any ideas please?

B6478 from Waddington to Newton is ok on the northern part. Not my choice of roads around there, ok if you are passing through

ETA: Parkers Arms is nice to have some food outside if it's warm

There are very few roads that you can overtake on easily in the FoB (there are probably only about 4 different roads covering the whole area), and some of the crests can be so sharp that more than 30mph will see you removing your bumper or sump when you come down the other side.

IIRC the B6478 as mentioned also stays mostly as a dual lane road east to Tosside, and then it's narrower all the way east through Wigglesworth to the A65.

When I'm going up to Brough, Barnard Castle or Darlington, I tend to come off the M6 just after Preston and go cross-country through the FoB for a bit of fun...but it's not a fast route. Depending on my final destination it will be either be Whitewell, Newton, Slaidburn, Bentham, Ingleton if I'm heading north to Pennines/Lake District and Tebay for brekkie) or Whitewell, Newton, Slaidburn, Tosside, Wigglesworth if I'm heading East/North-East for a trip around the Yorkshire Dales.
