I drive this route to and from work on a daily basis, as well as at many other times. Much of the route has had 30-40mph limits applied with random speed camaras in action. The result is a slow moving queue behind a horse box or the like, with no-one daring to pass. I would recommend diverting at Pertenhall, heading to Swineshead, Riseley and on toward Thurleigh. From here you can follow the road to Milton Ernest(a long fast right-hander about 2 miles long), picking up the A6 to Bedford, or head through Thurleigh to pick up the Kimbolton-Bedford road(B660) toward the end of the speed limits.
come off the A14 take the back road all the way into Kimbolton, right towards Higham Ferrers, and look out for the bikers, a sure fire hit
Hold on a minute, biker seen sitting at roadside today bike not too damaged, but guy a bit shaken up, locals looking over garden walls etc, told you so type expressions,
oh well..
