Edinburgh to Ipswich in Chimp 450...

Have sold by motor to a lucky chap down south, and will be delivering it imminently. I've planned the northern bit (A701-moffat, then bit of M6, A6 Shap-Kendal A684 past Hawes towards the A1), but then I run out of ideas a bit. Anyone with any local knowledge can point me in the right direction on the southern leg of the trip, or has any better ideas about the northern leg, I'd be interested to know.
