The Dengie peninsular is dammned good fun!

The roads between South Woodham Ferrers and Burnham on Crouch make for some truly excellent driving.

Bradwell power station is now shut and the road that leads to it is both quiet and the most "track like" public road this side of Spa! - few kerbs and so the most damage you'll do if you loose it is sqaush an acre of cabbages!

Popular with Bikers which is often a good sign.

You must be careful though. The Burnham road has some very dodgy cambers andif your not ready for them they can easily throw you way off line. Also especially on a Sunday Plod are out in force because of local complaints about bikers speeding.

Fair point!

The other good road is the one that leads from the Shaw Farm roundabout to East Hanningfield. It's not much cop at the moment as the crops are too high but when they're gone, you get a good view quite a way ahead!

Read through your other thread reagrding other Essex PHrs'. I live in Bicknacre and my daughter and son go to St Mary's in SWF. We should all have an Essex Piston Fest!!

You're not the chap who sorts out Jean Alesi's vintage Rolls Royce are you? I'm sure I read somewhere he comes to Essex every year to get it serviced.

In my mind, I drive a mid 80's 308

Sadly, the reality is - for the next few months at least - Steviebee is Mondeo Man (Silver '02, 2.0 Zetec) - which is in fact a damn fine car!

But as someone once said... watch this space!

The Saffron Walden to Braintee road (B1053)is also a bit of fun - especially if you want to miss out the M11/A120 if you are coming back from Cambridge. Takes you through Finchingfield which is quite pretty and lots of twisty roads.

That was my party trick too until they put the traffic lights up!! Now it can be a bit tricky unless you know how to catch them all at green!
