Just came back from Castle Carey via a different route. Instead of my normal shepton to frome to trowbridge I cut out shepton and went via Bruton to Nunney.

The road is the A359 and a very entertaining one at that! So long as you get a clear run as there are no overtaking ops other than towardss the end as you drop close to Nunney. The road has twists and undulations that are progressive, flow into each other and easy to read. I never once broke the NSL limit and smiled my entire time keeping average speeds at a nice steady 60.

Its one of those roads you can enjoy without breaking the law.

7/10 - dropped a point because if you get stuck behind traffic its a bugger

Used to travel that road on a Daily Basis, it was good, providing the Farmer hadn't just let his cows cross just after you left Bruton!!

Remember having to arrange recovery of a customers car that had been hit by an unmarked Police Jag, that was on high speed training, hence the reason it was on the wrong side of the road !!!!

Similar happend to my ex lodger, police response was we cannot admit liability! biggrin

Yeah it is one of those roads that is ultimately rewarding if clear and ultimately frustrating otherwise.

Unless it's dualled, this statement is impossible.
