Bristol to Newport

I have a meeting in the morning in Bristol, so have the whole afternoon to drive back to Newport.

Forecast is Sunny and I don't fancy paying for the Bridge...

Are there any roads in particular I should take from Bristol to Gloucester and back down to Newport?

Gloucester to monmouth is quite good. Police are busy in the Forest of Dean though as hte locals seem to be busy testing the strength of the trees again. Look out for a Blue VX05 plate Handa Accord, all others are marked.
