London to York (well, Haxby)
Discussion
Driving up to York this evening and pondering when and where to go.
I thought I've leave about 7pm (after the worst of the traffic, but not ridiculously late when I arrive) and take the A1?
Never sure whether the A1 or M1 is quicker. I suspect it's the M1 if you get a clear run, but the A1 seems to be less crowded and has a few twists, turns and roundabouts to keep me awake. If only it wasn't for the gatsos and patrol cars...
Any thoughts?

I did. Actually made quite good progress with a fixed 'slightly more than I can repeat' everywhere barring the scamera stretches and the 50 limits. I swear they paint the gatsos with something different in Licolnshire - they're far less reflective.
When you get further oop nrth it's rather more bendy than the average major dual carriageway. In some parts it's even vaguely fun.![driving](/inc/images/driving.gif)
