M3 / M25 Intersection.

Hi All,
I know that this "experiment" has been running for a while, and it may have been covered elsewhere on PistonHeads (a search did not reveal anything, I did try honest!), but am I the only person who thinks that it is just plain ridiculous to have the major route out of London to the South West permanently down to 1 lane. The 50 miles "average speed" check which continues for probably about a mile further than it needs to ( I assume so that they have put this in place so the average speed can be measured sufficently to ensure that the "robbing g1ts" can fine us)..
Anyway.... rant over, but in all seriousness, does anyone know when this madness is likely to end, all the "cones hotline" could tell me was why it was there, but they had no idea if / when it would end.....
