Hello, I plan on driving from Munich to Venice in December of this year.

Have to cross the Alps....how dangerous of a drive is this going to be in rental car?
(using main roads as supplied by Google Maps)

Is there a chance that the road won't be snowed in at all?

Potential for avalanches?

thanks

It would appear that you are a newbie at this, so I'd recommend
using the Brenner Pass.

It's the lowest and easiest and costliest of the Alpine passes into Italy.

It's a primary lorry route from / to North / South Europe, so quite a bit
of effort goes into keeping it clear.

Other than that, try to stay on the motorways and keep it nice'n'slow.
