I don't know how many of you use this road but they've just taken the speed limit down from National to 50MPH and 40MPH in places on the B4453 all the way out from Rugby to the Fosse Way.

I can't tell you how incredibly sad I am about this. I used to enjoy driving to work in the mornings! Not any more.

Hi,

with B roads, they usually don't enforce much as no cash can be made...I'd keep using it as before smile

Haven't been along there recently though there is a couple of nasty corners that you would struggle to get around at 40 let alone 60! Is the actual straight mile bit still 60?

I remember back in the day Rootes used to use it for "testing" and you can still see markers on some of the trees.

Know for a fact that Warks did enforce on it --although it's a B road ,it's typically Roman -fairly straight and a lot shorter (in some respects ) than a lot of other roads/routes so it's quite busy .But although I see the van going and coming ,never recently seen it parked up anywhere(except on a pavement in Nuneaton partly hidden by a bus shelter in one direction ,and about 150 yds from a corner ,other way ).And don't forget their bike .Leics seem to have done same thing with speed limits ,but again although the only Leics road I use is A5 -haven't seen it out recently .

Warwickhire CC are getting silly with a lot of our limits round these parts. We have a duel carriageway (A444 Coventry to Nuneaton) which is being reduced from 70 to 50. Straight road, on a 10m embankment with no crossings at all.

You do also get quite a few bib on the straight mile, contary to what you may read. My father got pulled a few years ago going into Brinklow and was tol to turn the wick down a little.

Edit: Wine spelling....

Whilst once over the J3 island ,it's NSL on the same type of road .(If anything the A444 from J3 is more dangerous ,with the dodgy island markings at Ricoh and the lights at Tesco ,but who said common sense and Warks speed limits had anything in common)
