I'll give this a try here... As every year, my gf and I are going to the South of France this summer. Leaving from our home town Gent in Belgium, the usual route is Gent-Lille-Reims-Dijon-Lyon-Aix en Provence-Draguignan.
As this is the first year there's a Lotus on my driveway, there's no way we're NOT going by Lotus. Well, in fact, I'm going by Lotus and she and the kids (2,5y and 3m this summer) in the other car. What a woman
We're doing the trip as usual in two days, and the idea is to cover as much autoroute the first day, and to take the scenic route the second, taking in some beautifull roads and regions... Has anyone done this trip (or parts of it) and have great tips for us?
Thanks in advance
Bram

I did a trip from Calais to Monaco last year. Write up and pics here:

I would highly recommend the route and the roads would be perfect in an Elise.

Take the autoroute down to Lyon and then to Grenoble. From there take the N91 to Briancon and then N94 to Guillestre, D902 to Jausiers and then D64 and D2205 until it hits the RN202 and follow the river valley until the A8 and take that for 4kms until you get to the airport and follow the N98 into Nice.
That's the route I like when I'm not in a rush anyway!

You'll have to pick your own zigging and zagging to suit your timescales, but, from last year...
Go down through Germany and the Black Forest
Cross the Bodensee into Switzerland on the ferry (to Konstanz)
Through Lichtenstein into Austria (A14?)
Then south into Italy and zig-zag Italy <-> Switzerland over some mountain passes.
Do not miss the Munt la Schera Tunnel!
Then south (and steeply down) through Italy to the coast, and head west on the Autoroute (the coastal road is very slow).

ETA- Re-reading, you've got two days, so skip Austria and go straight Switzerland -> Italy.
