Ok, so I'm not planning on doing this until next year, as this year is sorted for holidays, but...
I'd like to take in the 'ring, as it's something I want to do in my life, but have no ideas on what else I should explore.
Some pre-requisites:
Ideally 1500 miles covered (No more than 2000)
The roads to drive on to be of good quality
The places I stay to be safe to park my car
I know that probably sounds a bit odd, but I love my car, and don't want to do too much driving, as it'd drive the OH mad. Ideally covering 200-250 miles a day.
What else is there to consider with a trip like this? Sorry it's such a random thread, but I'm new to all of this, having never driven abroad before.

Tips:
Plan where you are going beforehand. I found doing this on a Tom Tom was perfect as you can calculate the driving time. I went for about 5 hours driving a day (using the avoid motorways option)which was perfect.
Most hotels have decent parking but check first and book it if necessary. I never had a problem with parking.
Make sure you have full AA cover or similar (and chack it provides for full repatriation of the car to the UK in the event of a breakdown)and notify your insurers of the trip.
Check for the latest must takes for France e.g warning triangle, spare bulb kit andd high viz bibs (which should be in the car with you).

Hi Davey - Didn't realise I could get to Monaco and back in just over 2000 miles (around the same as you, 2200). Food for thought! I'd love to go to Monaco in my own car!
You can do it in 2 days if you dont mind a long drive (your missus might though!)If time is tight go from Calais to Dijon via the Autoroute on day 1 (although you will miss some epic roads ((the D996 being one of them)) and on Day 2 take the Autoroute as far as Grenoble then pick up the N85 (Route Napoleon) to Cannes then a quick drive up the coast to Monaco.
Easily do-able but a bit of a waste IMO. Take some more time getting down there, it will be worth it.
