Limoges to Carlisle

Summer road trip from Limoges back to Carlisle, is there any decent roads or any worthwhile detours to make?

Will be in a little MX5 hopefully, not the Jimny my parents are threatening me with!

Thinking about Paris for a night or 2 but apart from that i have got no ideas.
