A couple of years ago found a few pictures of a German LT which had done a alpine road trip, these gave me inspiration for a few similar trips of my own, but quite fancy doing the same road.

Anybody recognise this road ?

Also this one, but not associated with the previous.

Ok no refence photos available but from memory, I'd suggest that the second picture is Mt Blang and the Grand Jorasses (Point Walker) from the south. So somwhere around the great St Benard?

First photo looks more like Norway (Settersdal?) than the Alps, but never seen a straight that long in Norway

Second pic (easy!) is the magnificant Furka pass in Switzerland with the Grimsell pass (another brilliant one) in the distance.

Not sure about the first one... (It may be the Albula pass....I think it is - reminds me of the A87 :-) )

Is very easy to spot once you've been there isn't it smile

Would love to know where the first is, that looks brilliant!

Multiple times smile

I'm fairly sure (95%) the first one is the Albula pass - it's a stunning road so even if it isn't the one, it is well worth a visit and there are more stunning sections than that shown in the pic.

Searched for pics of Albula pass, no pics the same as the one I posted but the landscape does look very much like it.
While looking on a bikers website they commented how poor the road surface was, the one in the picture seems very good. On same site and in same area came accross the Fluelapass.Searched again for picyures, again none the same but road and landscape also very similar. Google earth shows some good straight bits and also found pic below of flickr.

What do you reckon ?

Anyway since their quite close to each other the best way is to go and find out !!

It's not the Fluela - but looping that with the Albula is well worth it.

You're right about the surface though - I wasn't concentrating!!!

It is the Timmelsjoch. Another great one.

Well done, pics in your link from exact same point - now I have to try and get there soon, I'm being forced back to the UK after 15 years and I'll probably never get the chance after that - Cheers
