Any good roads in Northern France ?
Discussion
Are there any good roads in Northern France ?
Can get a last minute ferry deal but where to go ? All the alpine roads will be under cover and a bit too far for a weekend hoon.
Was wondering whether it was worth crossing the channel in the hope of finding some decent roads not too far away from Calais ?

Doubtful - Belgium is pretty flat except for the SE corner, and I don't think there is much within an hour of Calais.
You could try the Montreuil to Hesdin road,
or the Montreuil to Hucqueliers road,
or the Gamaches to Senarpont road.
I've tried none of them, so I can't vouch for them.
There are millions of good roads not far from Calais.
Stay to the north and west of Paris, set the sat nav to avoid motorways and follow your nose.Heading towards Abbeville will give you a rough direction. Somebody will be along shortly to throw some road numbers at you I'm sure.
Had a fabulous 3 days there a month or so ago and 'did' the Normandy beaches.
It restored all my faith in overtaking, made just how awful our roads and drivers are here most obvious and I loved it.
Very surprised how expensive petrol was though, and everything come to that. But what the heck, you're saving on the crossing!

I love uk roads though. Everytime I cross the channel for your country roads, it's like I'm 40 years back in time.
