Left work at 4.05 in Chineham yesterday, got home to Sandhurst @ 10.30 last night.
Saw one gritter (parked up on the side of a roundabout at Basingstoke) and 2 snow ploughs on the M3 (going South)
Took till around 9.15 to reach the M3, which was then 5 - 10 mph between j6 and j5, mainly due to sheet ice.
Saw 3 jackknifed lorries, and maybe abandoned cars.

Who the hell do I shoot for this???

The people you pay extortionate levels of road tax to.

I dumped my car (safely out the way I hasten to add) and walked 7 miles home. First the snow then, when I reached the main roads, the congestion resulting from the snow, could have been solved with a snowplough and some grit, but that would mean spending money on this country's citizens, not the right honorable member's new duck pond.

I was going the other way - Heathrow to Basingstoke took 6.5 hrs with an average speed of 8mph

What really wound me up were the complete t**ts that think its ok to drive on the hard shoulder just because they have their hazards on - some even tried to cut back into the traffic further on. One little oik in a black Colt with "real" cobra stripesvery nearly got a right royal battering - F**U&**&!!! idiot

and breathe...... smile
