B743 Muirkirk to Strathaven
A truly brilliant bit of road for rally orientated cars (don't take anything that'll hate potholes/bend alloys etc). North to South it starts as open sweeping bends with higher speeds and half way down (county border) swaps to something akin to a downhill ski slalom run. Left foot braking stuff all the way... 13 miles of Brilliant road, just a shame it's so far away from me...

Here's a sad little video of a couple of runs over the road...

Sad, because nothing very exciting happens other than a bit of noise, and sad, because the white quattro was stolen and destroyed 4 weeks later...
The first clip is just before the County Border and the second is about halfway from the Border towards Muirkirk.
I felt quite guilty driving 'enthusiastically' down the road, but the video camera was left running on the second clip between runs and the locals made my attempts of belting about look frankly lame...

It is a good road for a blast, It's a road I'm along 3-4 times a week, favourite time is around 2200 or later, you can see any on-coming car lights even on the blind corners and can really hammer the car into them, quickest I've done it is in my Evo 1. But there's much much better minor roads only a few miles away.....that if you've the balls you'll drive at same sort of speeds but much more fun!
Obviously that would be reckless and careless, therefore no-body would ever ever do that as it would be illegal (plod don't go near the good back roads here)
