UK to Croatia - 2 week trip route advice

Afternoon all,

Planning a trip in August with the better half down to Croatia to met friends and wanted to seek advice on the best ie mix of good driving, efficiency and suitable places of interest for the 'lady'.

We have approx 2-3 weeks and first thoughts had been the following;

1). Reims (do the whole champagne thing)
2). Head into Germany and pick up the 'Romantic route'
3). Austria (no ideas here)
4). Slovenia (again no ideas)
5). Croatia

And back

1). Italy (Dolomites)
2). France (either via Annecy or Cote d'Azur)

Any help much appreciated in terms of roads, decent hotels, places to see etc etc etc

I'll second this, got a trip planned for April too, but can't decide best route over, or if i should just tramp across using Googlemaps stopping when tired.

Planning to visit Lake Bled, Zagreb, Belgrade, Sarajevo, Split, Dubrovnik, Trieste and Vencie, so need to get there quickish. From Scotland. In 2 weeks, there and back!

Sorry to jump thread, but probably looking for similar info?!
