I'm hoping for some solo two-day jollies in the playmobile. Something like: bung camping gear in the boot, drive all day, stop at predetermined campsite, sleep, drive all day a different route home to Leicestershire. Obviously interspersed with plentiful refuel stops for both self and vehicle.
Looking at the map, the quiet parts of Scotland have a certain appeal.
I quite fancy driving on sea or loch-hugging roads with a few 'oohs' and 'ahhhs' thrown in for photographic purposes (and proof to the wife I'm not having it away with a dirty young mistress).

Does the panel have any suggestions/advice for interesting routes or roads I should consider?
Also, with there being few wholly derestricted roads, what is the current GATSO situation?

Any input or local knowledge would be appreciated.

If you're anywhere near Dundee there's road call the A928 between the A90 and A94 just north of Dundee.
I did this one twice yesterday, it's only 3 or 4 miles long but it's a good surface, fairly quiet, very twisty and just generally great.
I managed to enjoy myself, even in the company Volvo estate! (a re-run is planned in the Marcos for later in the year...)

Try the Scottish forum down at the bottom of the list. Plenty discussion there.

I did west coast in Chimaera 2 years ago. Aftwer Loch Lomond roads to Fort William are brilliant ( A82) esp thru Glencoe. then up to Ullapool, Durness all brilliant, hardly any cars, police. Just watch out for the sheep. You can take that anyway you want!!
