Hello all knowing Fellow PH Forumites smile

Finally got the tickets booked for a long overdue holiday to see family and friends in the USA.

Going to make part of the holiday a road trip between Georgia and Pennsylvania and drive along the Blue Ridge parkway... It looks fab and I have been looking on flickr at some fantastic photos of the route and views along it.... So getting quite excited about it...

Anyone here driven it and care to share their experiences and pass on any advice about driving on it please smile

No personal experience, but wasn't that the road featured in Top Gear's American special just before Christmas? Might be worth a search.

I have driven the Blue Ridge Parkway twice. First time in a C5 Corvette Z06, second time in a C6 Z06 in convoy with a Shelby Mustang, Boxster and C6 Vette. It is a stunning road with amazing scenery. You do need to watch out for policeman though. Drop down off the mountains to Gertie's Country Store in Vesuvius. Last time we went Gertie produced a pot of Earl Grey from nowhere for all us weird English blokes that had descended on her shop.

Maybe "I'm sorry, I'm British" might get a better result. Maybe not.
