B1039 Saffron - Royston

You Essex/Herts guys probably know this one. I did it yesterday between 4.00 and 5.00 pm. This is 12 miles of absolute heaven. Lots of twisties and some fabulous long straights. The good thing is that on lots of it, there are no (or very low) hedges so that even in your low-down thunderstorm-on-wheels, you can see for miles. Some nice villages along the way for some 30 mph popping and banging. FANTASTIC

Dave, you didn,t say what was doing the popping and banging
My recollection of the road is there is an unexpected, violent 90 degree bend
somewhere near Chrishall
perhaps this is where you were doing your popping and banging

Joking aside mate, watch out for the tractors this time of year
If you see me rumbling around Saffron Walden, mine's an Antigua Blue Griff 500

Doh, forgot about that! Went down there on Sunday, there are no warning signs and once you drop over the little hump its to late!!!
Luckily there is a track road to run off into, and even luckier there was no cars coming.
